First Eucharist for young
children is normally held in the month of May, typically on a
Saturday morning. This is targeted to usually occur at the
second grade level.
Older children, teens, and adults who are participating in R.C.I.C.,
R.C.I.T., or R.C.I.A., and who have previously been baptized,
usually receive First Eucharist within the celebration of their
Reception into the Church. |

Preparation for First
Reconciliation and First Eucharist for young children occur over a
two year period, at the first and second grade levels.
Specifically, sacramental preparation for First Eucharist occurs in
the spring semester of the 2nd grade level. However, children
must be registered and attend C.C.E. in their 1st grade year in
order to proceed to 2nd grade sacramental preparation.
First Eucharist preparation classes occur during each child's normal
C.C.E. class period (Weds. 6:15 - 7:30 p.m., Sun. 9:15 - 10:30 a.m.
or 10:45 - 12:00 a.m.). The preparation sessions consist of
several classes, with 4 sessions to include parents. The joint
parent-child sessions usually occur in late January and early
February. There is also a required half-day retreat for First
Eucharist candidates, normally held on a Saturday morning in March
or April. Monitor your child's C.C.E. calendar and watch the
parish bulletin and website to stay abreast of these REQUIRED
sessions.
Older children, teens, and adults who are participating in R.C.I.C.,
R.C.I.T., or R.C.I.A., receive their sacramental preparation as a
part of their overall formation process. |
