The annual celebration of Confirmation for high school seniors is normally held during the month of October, at the availability of the bishop.  Typically, this occurs on a Sunday afternoon.
Adults usually receive Confirmation at the Easter Vigil mass.  For those who are un-baptized, Confirmation follows Baptism, both being done at this liturgy.

Sacramental preparation for Confirmation is a two year process.  During the high school junior year, special confirmation classes are held concurrent with the normal Sunday evening Youth Ministry timetable.  In addition, there are sponsor-candidate meetings approximately once per month.  There is a required retreat, usually held early in the spring semester of the junior year.
Final preparations occur early in the senior year, leading to receiving Confirmation in October.  During the senior year, the confirmed are asked to assume ministerial leadership roles in the Youth Ministry program, as a part of living out their new role as adults in the church.
Youth interested in being Confirmed as senior need to register for Confirmation classes as they begin their junior year.

The Confirmation sponsor must be a practicing Catholic, in good standing with the church.  A sponsor must be willing to spend time with the candidate, and attend the requisite sponsor-candidate sessions.
