Purpose |
When our
Evangelization Team was established in 1988 by our pastor, Msgr. Leo
Wleczyk, it was decided to base our ministry upon the Convergence
Model of Evangelization as described by Fr. Patrick Brennan in his
book, "The Evangelizing Parish". In this book, Fr. Brennan
describes Evangelization as "a thread that runs through all our
ministries". He quoted from Pope Paul VI's "Evangelization in the
Modern World". In it, Pope Paul VI says, "Evangelization cannot
happen unless all ministries (including 'non-churchy') find
Evangelization their central mission around which we must all
converge"
With Evangelization as a thread running through all our ministries,
our Evangelization Team, headed by Fr. Leo, is composed of these St.
Michael's ministries: Youth, RCIA, Hispanic, Worship, Family Life,
Pastoral Council, CRHP, Adult Faith.
